It's Not Enough.
Happy New Year! My, what a crazy year 2016 was… I can honestly say I am ready for 2017. Now, to kinda get right to my point: I had a revelation. Today, actually. I am about to offend a lot of you, however I encourage you to read this with an open mind and an open heart.
You can be one of two things during your time on this earth: of the world or of God. There is no mix, there is no having both. You pick one, you pick the world or you pick Jesus. Christians are becoming more lax with their faith, we are not living for God as we preach to others that we are. We have gotten into an ugly habit of putting God last, of spending time binge watching netflix or gossiping instead of praying and fellowshipping and ministering to others. What we are doing is assuming that just because we say “I love Jesus!” to your church friends, and assuming you are forgiven of sin, of conscious sin that you will continue to do. This is untrue. You must ask for genuine forgiveness of sin, when faced with things not of Jesus, we must say no and turn to God. We are taught to not be radical in anything because those people are crazy, we are taught that being radical is a bad thing and we are taught that you shouldn’t speak to about God to people who don’t believe in God because that’s rude and pushy. I wanna let y’all in on a little secret.
The world is feeding you lies. We are to know Jesus and show Jesus. You will be persecuted, people are going to call you crazy and say this is all made up. People going to try and lead you away from God because your fearless faith makes them uncomfortable, they are going to say that you shouldn’t talk about Jesus so loudly and they will call you a “Jesus freak”. Those of the world will be offended when you push your convictions on them, do not stop. Push your convictions, talk about Jesus non-stop, especially to those who don’t know God or deny him. A day is coming, and it’s a sin to not draw our brothers and sisters to Christ so that they too may be saved.
The world is feeding us all lies because the Devil is out to get those who want God. The Devil and God each have a plan, and you are picking one. The Devil’s plan is death in hell forever and God’s plan is eternal life in heaven with Him. I think the choice is pretty obvious. Christians- I am talking to you right now. Stop avoiding picking up your dusty Bible because you’re scared, stop putting off prayer because you are “busy”. Stop avoiding God’s calling for you, because He is coming soon to take His children, those who love him, those who followed him and those who did not deny him. I want God to take me from a broken world and put me into his kingdom, and how I will get there is soley because of the grace and mercy God has for those who love and follow him.
We have also seemed to disregard one of the most important teachings of God, to FEAR God. We are all called to fear the Lord. God tells us on many occasions in the Bible that we are to fear him. We are often so caught up in God’s love and grace that we forget to fear him. This is detrimental and scary. Know God, fear God and love God. This is what we are called to.
Y’all, my point is that we are not taking our faith seriously. We are forgetting that God is coming, and when Jesus comes he will leave behind those who did not fully follow him and there will be no more second chances. How we follow God determines your fate for eternity, and that is the intense truth. People of the world will be left behind, don’t let another day go by where you think you might be someone who would be left behind. So pray, read your bible, pray some more, love God, fear God and worship God. He is our savior, our father, our creator and he loves us. He sent his son for you, start living in thanks for that. Take not his salvation and grace for granted, be thankful and be bold.
Thank you for reading and God Bless!
